Pressed Hymenena seaweed
  • Pressed Hymenena seaweed

Seaweed harvested from the Pacific Northwest coastline, pressed, and mounted onto local hardwood slabs. One of a kind spashots of the wild west coast.

    ---

This black-lined red (Hymenena) seaweed was harvested at mid-tide on 12-13-21 at sunset. Harvested from Old Home Beach, Humboldt County, California. Mounted on madrone.

    ---

This seaweed's special color is a result of partial digestion by acid kelp. Acid kelp digests other seaweed species it comes into contact with, the process leaches color causing uniquely beautiful discoloration.

100% of proceeds go to funding wildlife stories.
